Manchester United secure yet another major sponsorship
Manchester United has signed a four-year deal with Thomas Cook for the agency to become the official travel partner of the club. The deal is thought to be worth some US$2 million per year.
"The benefits of this deal will result in a more complete travel service for the team, club officials and more importantly our millions of supporters across the globe," said Manchester United chief executive David Gill.
Thomas Cook will provide worldwide travel for the first team and officials, as well as fans' packages for away games in the Champions League and home fixtures.
"Thomas Cook Sport is the market leader in sports tourism and this partnership adds to our role in taking fans to the World Cup and London 2012, as we drive forward this dynamic and successful business," said Manny Fontenia-Novoa, group chief executive of Thomas Cook.
